Overview
Universidad de Guadalajara (UdeG) is a public research university located in Guadalajara, Mexico. It is the second-largest university in Mexico with a total enrollment of over 180,000 students across its campuses. UdeG offers undergraduate and postgraduate degrees in various fields.
History
UdeG was founded in 1791 and was initially established as the Real Universidad de Guadalajara. It was first located in the Hospicio Cabañas, a building that now serves as a cultural center. Over the years, UdeG expanded its academic offerings and developed new campuses, including the University of Guadalajara Foundation, the Autonomous University of Guadalajara, and the State University of Guadalajara.
