Radboud University Nijmegen is a public research university located in Nijmegen, Netherlands. History

Radboud University Nijmegen was established in 1923 as the Catholic University of Nijmegen. The university was founded by the Dutch Catholic Church to provide higher education to Catholics in the Netherlands. It was named after Saint Radboud, a local bishop from the 9th century. The university became a public institution in 1991.
