Overview
Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST) is a public research university located in Daejeon, South Korea. It was established in 1971 and has since become a leading institution of higher education in the country.
History
KAIST was founded as the Korea Advanced Institute of Science (KAIS) in 1971 by the Korean government with the objective of training skilled professionals to support the nation’s continued economic growth. It became a university in 1989 and was renamed as KAIST.
