Overview
The Indian Institute of Technology (Indian School of Mines) is a premier engineering and science institute in India. It was established in 1926 and is located in Dhanbad, Jharkhand.
History
The institution was originally started as the Indian School of Mines and applied geology. Later in 1967, it was granted the status of a full-fledged IIT, making it the third IIT to be established in the country.
