Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER) is a group of premier science education and research institutes in India. These institutes offer undergraduate and graduate courses in various fields of science and technology.
IISERs were established by the Government of India in 2006 to promote scientific research and education in India. The first two institutes, IISER Pune and IISER Kolkata, were created in 2006. Since then, five more IISERs have been established in different parts of India.
