Overview
IMT Atlantique is a French Grande École d’ingénieurs, committed to training top-flight engineers and technical experts. History
Founded in 1977, IMT Atlantique was established as Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Mines de Nantes (ENSM) following the merger of three mining schools; École Nationale Supérieure des Mines de Nancy, École Nationale Supérieure des Mines de Paris, and École Nationale Supérieure des Mines de Saint-Étienne. The institution was subsequently renamed as Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Mines de Nantes Atlantique and then as Mines Nantes in 1985, and later became Mines Nantes Atlantique in 2000. In 2017, the institution joined the prestigious IMT (Institut Mines-Télécom) group of engineering schools, becoming IMT Atlantique.
