Under his leadership, GLG grew to become one of the largest hedge fund firms in the world, managing over $24 billion in assets. In 2010, Gottesman sold GLG to Man Group for $1.6 billion.

After departing GLG in 2012, Gottesman founded TOMS Capital LLC, a private investment fund focused on technology and media. He has also served on the Board of Directors for various companies, including Nomura Holdings, Inc. and Infosys Limited.

Gottesman’s investment strategy is grounded in risk management, and he is known for his ability to navigate volatile markets with skill. He is also actively involved in philanthropy, serving on the Board of Directors for the Robin Hood Foundation, which works to address poverty in New York City.
