Early Life and Education

Fernando Chico Pardo was born on October 12, 1958, in Mexico City. He earned a degree in civil engineering from the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) and went on to earn an MBA from the Harvard Business School.

Career and Achievements

Early in his career, Fernando Chico Pardo worked as a consultant for McKinsey & Company in New York. After returning to Mexico, he co-founded and served as CEO of ASA, where he implemented innovative marketing initiatives and expanded the company’s operations to other Latin American countries such as Chile, Peru, and Colombia.

In 1998, Fernando Chico Pardo co-founded Promecap, a private equity firm that invests in infrastructure, energy, and real estate projects in Mexico. Under his leadership, Promecap has become one of the most successful private equity firms in the country, with over US$3.5 billion in managed assets.

In 2000, Fernando Chico Pardo became a board member of Grupo Aeroportuario del Sureste (ASUR), which operates airports in the southeastern region of Mexico. He served as CEO of ASUR for six years and was instrumental in the company’s successful listing on the New York Stock Exchange in 2005. As of 2021, he is the Chairman of ASUR.

In addition to his work in the aviation sector, Fernando Chico Pardo has been involved in several other successful business ventures. He co-founded and served as Chairman of Ferrosur, a railroad transportation company in Mexico, and is a board member of telecommunications company America Movil.
