In 1956, Buffett started his own investment partnership, which he ran for over a decade. During this time, he made several successful investments, including purchasing shares of Berkshire Hathaway, a failing textile company. Through a series of shrewd business moves and investments, Buffett transformed Berkshire Hathaway into a multinational conglomerate holding company with a diverse portfolio of subsidiaries. Today, Berkshire Hathaway owns and operates businesses in a variety of industries, including insurance, manufacturing, retail, and more.
