Early Life and Education
Li Xuhui was born in Jixi, Heilongjiang Province, China in 1963. He grew up in a farming family and attended Jixi Agricultural School. After graduation, he worked in a state-owned farm and later became a manager of a feed plant.
In 1992, Li Xuhui won a scholarship to study in the United States, where he earned a master’s degree in crop science from the University of Nebraska.
Career and Achievements
After returning to China in 1994, Li Xuhui founded Heilongjiang Agriculture with a loan from his mother. The company started as a corn and soybean producer and later expanded into animal feed, dairy farming, and meat processing.
Today, Heilongjiang Agriculture is one of the largest agricultural companies in China, with more than 30,000 employees and operations in 16 provinces. The company has also expanded internationally, with investments in Southeast Asia and South America.
In addition to his role at Heilongjiang Agriculture, Li Xuhui is also active in politics. He is a member of the Heilongjiang Provincial People’s Congress and a member of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference.
Li Xuhui is married with three children. He is known for his philanthropy, particularly in the area of education. He has donated millions of dollars to schools and universities in Heilongjiang Province, including the creation of a scholarship program for students from rural areas.
