Early Life and Education

Isaac Perlmutter was born in 1942 in Israel, and grew up in South Africa. He lived in Israel for six months before moving with his parents to South Africa. He completed his high school education at the Herzlia School in Cape Town. He migrated to the United States in the late 1960s.

Career and Achievements

Isaac Perlmutter began his career as a toy designer for Remco, a company that manufactured popular toys in the 1970s. He worked at Remco for several years, before co-founding his own toy company, Toy Biz, Inc., in 1988.

Under Perlmutter’s leadership, Toy Biz, Inc. saw tremendous success in the toy industry. The company secured the rights to produce action figures based on popular Marvel Comics characters, such as Spider-Man and X-Men. In 1993, Toy Biz became a publicly traded company, and later merged with Marvel Entertainment in 1998.

In 2005, Perlmutter became Marvel Entertainment’s CEO, and he helped guide the company to even greater success with the release of blockbuster movies like “Iron Man”, “The Avengers”, and “Captain America”. In 2009, he pocketed over $1 billion when Disney acquired Marvel Entertainment.

In addition to his work at Marvel, Perlmutter is also a philanthropist. In 2013, he donated $50 million to the NYU Langone Medical Center, to establish a program for veterans suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).

Personal Life

Isaac Perlmutter is a private individual, and little is known about his personal life. According to reports, he has a close relationship with former President Donald Trump, and served as an advisor to him on issues related to veterans’ healthcare. He is married, and has a son named Daniel.
