Early Life and Education
Donald Trump was the fourth of five children born to Fred and Mary Anne Trump. His father was a wealthy real estate developer and a major influence on his son’s career. Trump attended the Kew-Forest School in Queens but was later sent to the New York Military Academy as a teenager. He graduated in 1964 and went on to attend Fordham University. After just two years, he transferred to the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and graduated with a degree in economics in 1968.
Career and Achievements
After college, Trump worked for his father’s company, the Trump Organization. He quickly rose through the ranks and eventually took over the company in 1971. Trump began to expand the company’s interests, branching out into other areas of business such as casinos, hotels, and golf courses. He also created and starred in the hit television show, The Apprentice. Trump has authored many books, including The Art of the Deal and How to Get Rich.
Trump’s journey to become a billionaire has been fraught with controversy. In the 1980s, he was accused of discriminatory rental practices, and in 1991 his Atlantic City casinos filed for bankruptcy. However, he rebounded and continued to grow his real estate empire, making savvy business deals and investments along the way. In 2016, he was elected as the 45th President of the United States.
