Early Life and Education

Bianca grew up in Perth, Western Australia, and was educated at the Anglican School for Girls in Claremont. After finishing high school, she moved to Sydney to study commerce at the University of New South Wales. During her university years, Bianca worked at her father’s company as a receptionist and learned about the mining business from him.

Career and Achievements

In 1992, Bianca’s father Lang Hancock died, leaving her and her younger sister, Ginia, with a controlling stake in Hancock Prospecting. However, the sisters did not get along, and a long legal battle ensued over the control of the company. In 2011, Bianca emerged victorious and was appointed the executive chairman of Hancock Prospecting.

Under Bianca’s leadership, the company has expanded its operations and is now one of the largest mining companies in Australia. It has interests in iron ore, coal, gold, uranium, and diamonds, among other commodities. In 2019, Hancock Prospecting reported revenues of AUD$16.1 billion.

In addition to her work at Hancock Prospecting, Bianca has also been involved in philanthropic endeavors. She is a trustee of the charitable foundation established by her father, the Hancock Prospecting Charity Foundation, which supports various causes including medical research, education, and social welfare.

Personal Life

Bianca is married to Sasha Serebryakov, a Russian-born lawyer. The couple has two children and lives in Sydney. In her free time, Bianca enjoys horse riding and yoga.
